2nd Vietnam – China Security Dialogue at Deputy Minister level

High-ranking delegation of Vietnam Public Security Ministry paid an official visit to China between 21st and 26th September.

The Vietnamese delegation was led by Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Member of Central Party Committee. The visit is part of implementation of Agreement on Cooperation by the MPS of Vietnam and Ministry of State Security of China. Mr. Dong Hai Zhou, Deputy Minister of State Security of China co-chaired the dialogue.

Both sides exchanged and shared opinions on issues of mutual concerns, assessed outcomes of cooperation between the two Ministries, especially the implementation of agreements reached during the first dialogue. The two ministries agreed to further enhance cooperation into greater depth, contributing to better friendship and cooperation between the two Parties, States and Peoples.

The visit and strategic dialogue are considered implementation of outcomes gained during the recent official visit to China by PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

Addressing the event, Mr. Bui Van Nam treasured the sound friendship between Vietnam and China.

The Vietnamese Deputy Minister spoke highly of achievements gained by both Ministries in the recent time

He also hoped such ties would be further promoted, contributing to the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries for interests and security of each side, for peace, stability and development in the region and the world.

The Chinese Deputy Minister agreed that the ties between the two ministries have experienced various development. He hailed the importance of the Dialogue and practical outcomes achieved, making contribution to the strategic comprehensive partnership.

During the visit and Dialogue, Mr. Bui Van Thanh met with Chinese Minister of Public Security Guo Shengkun and Minister of State Security Geng Huichang.

Vietnam is expected to host the next Dialogue in 2017.
