The 41st Asia-Pacific Conference of Correctional Administrators (APCCA 41) in Vietnam closed successfully, on the afternoon of November 16, after 5 working days.
APCCA 41 included 6 plenary sessions and 5 thematic discussions, in which delegates shared information and practical experience, pointed out a number of difficulties and limitations in managing and re-educating inmates, and proposed meansures to improve the effectiveness of prison management, prisoner management, prisoner re-education and ex-prisoner rehabilitation.
In addition to the conference agenda, the delegates also participated in sidelines activities, took field trips to Quang Ninh Prison and Thanh Xuan Prison, and visited a number of historical sites, famous landscapes in Hanoi and Quang Ninh.
At the Closing Ceremony, Lieutenant General Le Minh Hung, Chairman of 41st APCCA, handed over the APCCA flag to Mr. Wang Kwok-Hing, Head of the Hong Kong (China) delegation that will be the host of APCCA 42 in 2024.
Speaking at the closing session, Lieutenant General Le Minh Hung said that the results achieved at the 41st APCCA importantly contributed to the implementation of the principles and goals of the APCCA.
At the conference, delegates from regional countries pledged that they will continue to strengthen cooperation, exchange information and experiences, and join general dialogue to further improve prison management, inmate education and ex-prisoner rehabilitation, creating a healthy social environment for the development of their nations.
