70 prisoners of Ninh Khanh Prison to be released

PSNews – Ninh Khanh Prison on August 6 organized a ceremony to announce a decision on early conditional release of 70 prisoners serving sentences at the prison.

Ninh Khanh Prison is a unit under the Police Department of Criminal Verdict Execution and Judicial Assistant (G.D 8), Ministry of Public Security, based in Ninh Binh Province.

The ceremony saw the presence of Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thach, Vice Chairman of NinhBinh People’s Committee; representatives from the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Provincial Police, Provincial People’s Court and the People’s Procuracy, as well as local authorities and relevant agencies.

Early conditional release is a new legal provision that has been articulated for the first time in the Penal Code and Criminal Procedure Code of Vietnam. This reflects the clemency policy of the Party and State given to the imprisoned who have made progress in working, learning and observing the regulations at prison.

Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Tran Duc Phong, Chief Warden of Ninh Khanh Prison revealed that implementing the plans and instructions of the MPS and the General Department 8 on early conditional release, Ninh Khanh Prison had completed documents and scrutinized every case of early conditional release in an objective, serious, correct and transparent manner.
