74th National Conference of Public Security Forces opens in Hanoi

PSNews - The 74th National Public Security Conference solemnly opened in Hanoi on the morning of January 3 under the chair of Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security.

The event was attended by Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong, who delivered a keynote speech.

The conference also saw the participation of Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Organization Commission; Mr. Tran Thanh Man, Secretary of the PCC and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, Secretary of the PCC and Chief of the PCC’s Office; Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh, Secretary of the PCC, Chief Judge of the Supreme People's Court; Mr. Phan Đinh Trac, Secretary of the PCC, head of the PCC’s Commission for Internal Affairs;

as well as PCC’s members: Mr. Le Minh Tri, Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy; Mr. Dao Viet Trung, Chief of the President's Office; Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoa, Deputy Chairwoman of the PCC’s Inspection Commission; Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Minister of Information and Communications; Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Defense Minister; Mr. Ha Ban, Deputy Head of the PCC’s Organization Commission; Mr. Bui Thanh Son, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Dieu K’re, deputy head of the PCC’s Commission for Mass Mobilization; and other  leaders of ministries, Central agencies and Hanoi city.

Other high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Public Security included Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, and representatives of agencies and units under the Ministry of Public Security.

The conference will take place on January 3 - 4, to review the task performance of the Public Security Forces in 2018, evaluate haft-term (2016-2018) results of the Public Security Forces’ implementation of the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress and the emulation movement of "For National security"; and to roll out missions of ensuring security and order in 2019 and the remaining years of the term of the 12th National Party Congress, and launch a new emulation movement in 2019.

According to Minister To Lam, the 74th National Public Security Conference is taking place in the context that our entire Party, people and armed forces have made all-out endeavor to implement the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress; the Resolutions of the 6th, 7th, 8th Meeting of the 12th Party Central Committee and the 5-year socio-economic development plan of 2016 – 2020.

Minister To Lam stressed that the 74th National Public Security Conference includes important contents and key issues. Thus, he urged all delegates to concentrate their minds and speak their minds while discussing issues; at the same time, to give their analyses and forecasts on the trend of the security and order situation in the upcoming time, as well as to identify both opportunities and challenges for the missions of protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety, and building the People’s Public Security Forces as a comprehensively strong, clean force capable of fulfilling all assignments.

The Minister of Public Security also asked the delegates to give solutions and suggestions to the Public Security Forces so that they can accomplish all missions and reach all the targets in 2019 and the following years.
