Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son chairs meeting with local police on anti-pandemic measures

Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son chaired an online meeting with relevant under-ministerial agencies and provincial-level police departments on strengthening support for police forces of Southern provinces as COVID-19 cases surge in the localities.

At the meeting, leaders of local police departments briefed the Deputy Minister on the anti-pandemic efforts in their localities and proposed measures to control the disease in the coming time. Related public security agencies also discussed plans to provide more assistance to local-level police units as the pandemic has seen complicated developments recently.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son stressed that the local police units should uphold their vigilance against the disease as the pandemic situation in the Southern region is rapidly evolving with an increasing number of infected cases.

At the same time, they should mobilize on-spot sources and seek supports of vaccines and anti-pandemic medical equipment from local Party committees, authorities, and the health sector in terms of to prevent and fight against COVID-19, the Deputy Minister added.

Deputy Minister Son asked the public security health sector to improve medical examination and treatment services for officers, soldiers, and people in the current situation.

The Deputy Minister also requested the People's Security University and the People's Police University to extend the internship period of their cadets at the provincial-level police departments in order to support the local fights against the pandemic.
