A training course on drug addiction treatment opens for Lao officers

Under the authorization of the Ministry of Public Security - the Standing Agency for Counter-Narcotics of the National Committee for AIDS, Narcotics and Prostitution Prevention and Control, the Counter-Narcotics Police Department organized a training course on detoxification and rehabilitation of drug addicts for Lao police and civilian officers, from May 28 to June 2, 2023, in Da Nang.

The training course is within the framework of the Agreement and Memorandum of Understanding between the Governments and the Ministries of Public Security of the two countries. 

During the training course, lecturers and experts who are experienced in the field of detoxification and rehabilitation for drug addicts from units of the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Health will provide Lao trainees with illicit drug situations in the world, region and along Vietnam - Laos borderlines as well as knowledge of detoxification and rehabilitation for drug addicts.

The training course is also a forum for colleagues of the two countries to share their experiences and knowledge in order to further improve the effectiveness of detoxification and rehabilitation work, contributing to reducing drug demand in each country.
