The conference was held online connecting delegates from the headquarters of the Ministry of Public Security to those from the provincial-level police units of 63 provinces and cities.

The general report read that, under the leadership of the Party, State, Government, Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption, Public Security Central Party Committee, leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, and the Anti-Corruption Steering Committee of the Ministry of Public Security, all public security agencies and units seriously performed the task of controlling power, countering corruption, practicing thrift and combating wastefulness, last year.

Particularly, agencies and units had innovative ways and careful plans to prevent and control power abuse, corruption, wastefulness and negatives as well as effectively practise thrift. 

There were a number of examples in the movement of public security agencies and units.

After listening to the general report, delegates shared effective measures as well as pointed out limitations and discussed solutions to the remaining issues.

Some delegates underscored the importance of preventing corruption, negative and wastefulness to the building of truly clean, regular, elite and modernized Public Secuirty Forces to meet the task requirements in the current context.

Making the concluding speech, Minister To Lam requested the Anti-Corruption Steering Committee to take note and carefully study opinions and ideas given by delegates at the conference so as to improve the quality of its work of controlling power abuse, countering corruption, negative and wastefulness, and practicing thrift more effectively in the Public Security Forces in 2024.

Minister To Lam also requested all public security agencies and units to enhance inspection, promptly detect and strictly handle cases of power or position abuse, corruption and negativity early and from the beginning.

The minister underlined that the leadership of an agency or unit should be responsible for an offence of its subordinate officer.
