In addition, MPS attached great importance to promoting communication and dissemination of the amnesty policy so as to raise the public awareness of the amnesty policy, while also conducting rigorous supervision and inspection throughout the policy implementation process.

By now, the 2025 amnesty work has been fundamentally completed as planned.

Meanwhile, the appraisal of inmates proposed for amnesty has been made by the Steering Committee in an objective, democratic, public and transparent manner while meeting all the political, professional and legal requirements.

Speaking at the working session, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen reiterated that amnesty is a special clemency policy of the Party and State, which is one of the legal institutions enshrined in the Constitution.

The Deputy Minister said, immediately after the President signed decision on the 2025 amnesty on March 7, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the MPS Steering Committee for Amnesty promptly implemented the decision in a serious, transparent and objective manner.

To ensure the success of the 2025 amnesty, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen requested that the Police Department of Prison, Correctional Institution and Juvenile Reformatory Management, as the Standing Office of the MPS Steering Committee for Amnesty, continue to thoroughly review the lists of inmates eligible for amnesty as well as those failing to meet the criteria, and prepare documentations for the upcoming meeting of the Central Advisory Council on Amnesty 2025.
