Antique found while gardening

PSNews-A stone statue of Buddha, which is thought to be an antique, was found in Loc Thuy commune, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien – Hue.

On March 31, when Nguyen Van Tu was working in his garden in Thuy Yen Ha village, Loc Thuy Commune, he discovered a strange stone statue and reported the case to the local authorities.

The next day, officers of the Culture and Information Office of the district visited Tu’s house to check the statue and reported to the higher level competent agency.

The Buddha statue, which is 69 cm in height, 23 cm in width and 50 kg in weight, was made from monolith of white stone with red stripes.

Local authorities asked Tu’s family to protect the statue and reported the case to the provincial Culture and Sports Department, said Pham Huu Chung, Head of the District’s Culture and Information Office.
