ANTV serves as bridge connecting People's Public Security Forces and people

PSNews - After 7 years of development, the People’s Public Security TV channel (ANTV), with with its motto of "Humanity - Reliability - Timeliness - Attractiveness", has become an important bridge between the Public Security Forces and the people, and won hearts and souls of TV audiences.

The Department for Information and Communications of the Public Security Forces on December 11 held a meeting to celebrate the 7th birthday of ANTV.

Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Member of Politburo and Minister of Public Security attended and addressed the event. Participants at the event included other leaders of relevant agencies and units of the Ministry of Public Security, and leaders, former leaders of the Department for Information and Communications.

On the day 7 years ago, ANTV was officially launched, making a hallmark in the development history of the Public Security Forces’ press and media. The channel broadcasts 24/24-hour, has become the official television channel of the People’s Public Security Forces, with a focus on covering security issues, and operations of the People Public Security Forces nationwide.

Delivering the opening remarks, Major General Mai Van Ha, Director of the Department for Information and Communications, stressed that after 7 years of development, ANTV has had relatively modern facilities, broadcast HD standard programs on all cable television systems, digital terrestrial and satellite television systems, as well as on the Internet to audiences in Vietnam and across Southeast Asia with the aid of Vinasat1 and Vinasat2 satellites.

According to Major General Mai Van Ha, ANTV has been determined by the Ministry of Information and Communications as one of the seven domestic television channels serving the country's political information purpose. It is among the top domestic TV channels with largest numbers of viewers.

The Director spoke highly of programs of ANTV as the channel has always followed directions of the higher-level authorities, continuously improved the quality of its programs while striving to heighten its position as the only specialized television channel of the People Public Security Forces, and promoting the beautiful image of the People Public Security Forces.

Addressing the event, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, Minister To Lam congratulated ANTV on its achievements obtained over the past 7 years.

Minister To Lam stressed that, over the past 7 years, ANTV has successfully fulfilled its mission, contributing to ensuring political security and social order and safety and promoting the position of the Public Security Forces. ANTV has also become an important bridge connecting the Public Security Forces and the people.

Alongside other Public Security's press agencies, ANTV also serves as an important information channel for the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security in directing agencies and units of the Public Security Forces to perform their tasks, participates in disseminating the Party’s resolutions and State’s policies and laws on social order and security. It has also created a forum for public security soldiers, officers and people to exchange and promote academic and political knowledge as well as legal and professional skills.

In the time to come, as the security situation in the world and the region may continue to see complex developments while hostile forces will continuously increase activities to undermine the Party and State, and the situation of crimes, particularly organized crime, transnational crime, crime related to foreign elements, and cybercrime, will become more complex. In these circumstances, the tasks of the Public Security Forces, including the duties of the forces' press and media, will be heavier.

Therefore, Minister To Lam urged ANTV to further promote its merits, continuously renovate its professional work, and play a leading role in the cultural and ideological front so as to contribute more to protecting security and order in the coming time.

The Minister of Public Security pointed out some key tasks in the coming time for the Department for Information and Communications in general and ANTV in particular, urging all cadres, journalists, editors and officials of the Department to constantly study and follow the example of the nation's great journalist Ho Chi Minh.
