ASEAN 2020 Subcommittee for Security and Health holds 6th meeting

PSNews - In order to recognize their contributions to the protection and organization of ASEAN 2020 meetings from December 2019 to June 2020, Head of the ASEAN 2020 Subcommittee for Security and Health decided to award Certificates of Merit to outstanding teams and individuals of the subcommittee.

The ASEAN 2020 Subcommittee for Security and Health held its 6th meeting on August 28 to review its task performance since June 19 and discuss measures to ensure healthcare and security for the AIPA-41 General Assembly and upcoming events within the framework of ASEAN Year 2020.

    Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Member of ASEAN 2020 National Committee, chaired the meeting of the subcommittee.

    According to a report on the subcommittee’s task performance results since its 5th meeting, the subcommittee has deployed forces and means to ensure absolute security and safety for the 36th ASEAN Summit and other relevant meetings. 

    Particularly, in the third quarter of 2020, the subcommittee has taken measures to safeguard 33 video conferences, 21 sessions of the 52nd ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Meeting, the ASEAN +3 Senior Officials’ Meeting and the East Asia Summit Senior Officials’ Meeting (held online on July 20) and other relevant conferences (held on August 20 - 30).

    In order to recognize their contributions to the protection and organization of ASEAN 2020 meetings from December 2019 to June 2020, Head of the ASEAN 2020 Subcommittee for Security and Health decided to award Certificates of Merit to outstanding teams and individuals of the subcommittee.

    Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam praised the efforts and achievements of the subcommittee’s members over the past time.

    He asked the subcommittee to take effective measures to ensure absolute security and safety for delegates and international guests to attend the AIPA-41 General Assembly and upcoming ASEAN meetings. At the same time, the subcommittee should proactively maintain information security and prepare sufficient technical equipment and other conditions for the successful organization of the AIPA-41 General Assembly.
