Additionally, ASEANAPOL members also discussed the regional wildlife trafficking situation as well as difficulties in wildlife crime prevention in each country, made forecasts on regional wildlife trafficking trends, and gave directions to control wildlife trafficking in the region in the post-COVID-19 period.

Speaking at the Conference, Major General Do Van Hoanh, Chief of the Office of the Criminal Investigation Agency under the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam appreciated the initiative to hold the conference by the ASEANAPOL Secretariat and the USAID saying that such a meeting helps create an exchange network among national law enforcement agencies of regional countries so as to effectively control wildlife trafficking in the region.

Major General Do Van Hoanh believed that with the participation and experience sharing of leading experts from counter-wildlife trafficking forces of ASEAN countries and its dialogue partners and observers, the meeting would contribute positively to preventing wildlife trafficking in the region in the coming time.
