Australian Ambassador bids farewell to leadership of Ministry of Public Security

Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang hosted a meeting with outgoing Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Andrew Goledzinowski, on the afternoon of December 23rd, in Hanoi.

Congratulating Ambassador Andrew Goledzinowski on the successful completion of his term of office in Vietnam, Minister Luong Tam Quang highly appreciated the role of the Ambassador in upgrading the Vietnam-Australia bilateral relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in March 2024, which marked a significant development, higher political trust and more extensive and practical cooperation in the relations between the two countries.

The host underlined that Ambassador Andrew Goledzinowski with his role connecting the two sides had contributed largely to expanding and deepening the security and law enforcement cooperation between the two countries.

Highlighting the success of the first Vietnam-Australia Ministerial Security Dialogue held in Canberra in October 2024, the Vietnamese Minister highly appreciated the valuable information provided by Australia on global and regional issues, especially those related to non-traditional security challenges, cybersecurity, illegal migration, transnational crimes, and climate change response.

Minister Luong Tam Quang hoped that the Ambassador will spread the spirit of Vietnam's rising era in the international community, and continue to make positive contributions to the cooperative relationship between the two countries in general and between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and Australian law enforcement agencies in particular.

For his part, Australian Ambassador Andrew Goledzinowski expressed his sincere thanks to the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and Minister Luong Tam Quang for their close coordination, assistance, and support to the Australian Embassy and to him personally during his term of office in Vietnam.

The Ambassador underlined that after returning to his home country, he would always remember and cherish the beautiful image of the country and people of Vietnam.

Ambassador Andrew Goledzinowski pledged that, in his future position, he will continue to support and promote the relationship between Vietnam and Australia in general as well as the cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and Australian law enforcement agencies in particular, contributing to deepening the Vietnam-Australia comprehensive strategic partnership in a practical and effective manner for development and prosperity of the two countries.
