Aviation security and safety at Can Tho airport reviewed

PSNews - In 2016, Can Tho international airport safely served 4,574 times of plane’s landing and take-off and 547,029 passengers.

The Can Tho Provincial Steering Committee for Prevention of Terrorism, Demonstration, Riot and Aviation Emergency (the Steering Committee) held a meeting on April 20 to review aviation security activities of 2016 and roll out plans for 2017.

In 2016, Can Tho international airport safely served 4,574 times of plane’s landing and take-off and 547,029 passengers.

Additionally, the Steering Committee carried out 1,614 patrols around the Can Tho international airport; organized 153 information dissemination drives on aviation safety with the participation of over 5,600 people.

At the working session, representatives of the Steering Committee asked Can Tho international airport to promote its past achievements and fulfil all assignments in 2017. In particular, leaders of Can Tho international airport should work on plans for emergencies cases to cope with any aviation safety violation.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Can Tho Municipal People’s Committee presented certificates of merit to 3 organizations and 8 individuals for their excellent contributions to ensuring aviation security and safety in Can Tho city.
