Bac Lieu local police manage to issue new ID cards to Khmer people

Bac Lieu police managed to accelerate the issuance of chip-based ID cards for Khmer people thanks to the support from ethnic minority reputable people in the area.

To implement the chip-based ID card issuance project in the province, the leadership of the Provincial Police Department of Bac Lieu directed all of its subunits to take measures to prepare correct resident data for issuance of new ID cards for local citizens.

The police in Vinh Loi district mobilized local ethnic reputable persons to support the local police in granting e-ID cards to citizens.

In Hung Hoi commune, Vinh Loi district, the police coordinated with local religious dignitaries to establish an ID issuance desk in a local pagoda. The police team works all week, from 7am to midnight to grant e-ID cards to local people.

Additionally, the district police also mobilized reputable persons to call on all ethnic minority and religious groups to follow guidelines of the Party, policies and laws of the State, particularly the e-ID card project of the Ministry of Public Security.

Venerable Tang Sa Vong, Chief Monk of Cai Gia Chot Pagoda, Hung Hoi commune, said the management board of the pagoda was happy to join hands with the police in issuing new chip-based ID cards to local people. They also supported the policemen to assemble machines and equipment and prepare for e-ID cards issuance at the pagoda.

Lieutenant Colonel Danh Quy Nhon, Vice Head of the Hung Hoi Communal Police Post, appreciated the assistance of the reputable dignitaries.
