Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long concludes the working session.

According to reports at the meeting, from February to May 2023, relevant agencies and units piloted biometric and e-ID authentication at security checkpoints of Cat Bi and Noi Bai international airports. Later, from September to October 2023, biometric and e-ID authentication was piloted in the entire procedures of check-in, security check and boarding at Phu Bai and Cat Bi international airports.

The pilots showed that biometric and e-ID authentication helped optimize passenger check-in and boarding procedures while ensuring the protection of their personal information as it was only used for aviation purposes similar to those applied at international airports worldwide, strictly complying with the provisions of Government’s Decree No. 13/2023/ND-CP on personal data protection.
