Delivering the opening speech, Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong stated that, over the past years, the Central Public Security Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security paid attention to providing books and newspapers, contributing to improving knowledge and cultural life for public security officers and soldiers.

Currently, the library system of the public security forces in general and public security schools in particular is strongly developing.

Bookcases of many public security units effectively support public security officers and soldiers in doing research as well as maintaining and developing reading culture.

He also added that this year’s festival is one of the practical activities to celebrate the 72th Traditional Day of the public security forces. In the current digital era, traditional books still hold their own values, and remain indispensable spiritual food for people of all generations.

In this spirit, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong asked the General Department of Politics to well advise leaders of the Ministry of Public Security to instruct their affiliated agencies and units to well implement the Government's project "Developing reading culture in the community up to 2020 with an orientation toward 2030", such as raising bookcases themed “Cultural behavior in public security forces”.

Public security schools should connect their libraries with the aim of effectively exploiting all documents in politics, economy, defense, security, culture and society.

Additionally, the library systems of public security units should promptly apply achievements of science and technologies, hold suitable activities to popularize reading culture, such as book exhibitions, reading culture exchanges.
