The workshop was held by the Public Security Publishing House and the Southern representative office of the Information and Communications Department under the Ministry of Public Security in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh University of Pedagogy and the Ho Chi Minh City Writers’ Association
The workshop, held on the occasion of the 46th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification Day (April 30), drew the participation of 20 war female volunteer youths who had participated in fighting along the 1C Route, and a large number of students from the People’s Security University and the Ho Chi Minh University of Pedagogy.

Writer Tram Huong, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Writers’ Association, is famous for her books about the revolutionary wars in Vietnam.
Her latest work “Legendary 1C Route – the girls’ shoulder” has won the Consolation prize in the 4th writing contest "For national security and peaceful life" in 2020.
This non-fiction literary work is about the 1C Route - as known as the “Truong Son Trail” in the delta - since its establishment until April 1975. It tells stories about hardships, fierce battles and the sacrifice of the female volunteer youths on this legendary route.
Within the workshop, some war volunteer youths who are historical witnesses have shared their touching stories of those unforgettable tragic days to audiences.
The workshop has contributed to connecting old and young generations and helping youths today better understand the sacrifices and losses of youth volunteers in the past war.
