Major General Nguyen Van Thuan, Director of the Municipal Police Department, briefed the participants on various activities and achievements of the city’s police force in the past 6 months. Particularly, the police force of Can Tho has digitalized nearly all citizens’ application profiles for chip-based ID cards.
Their efforts were praised by the Minister of Public Security. Additionally, the numbers of traffic cases and traffic casualties have reduced over the past 6 months. The police force of Can Tho also prosecuted a number of people who took advantage of freedom of speech to infringe upon the interests of the State, organizations and individuals.
The local police have also successfully investigated several special cases, which was praised by the Ministry, local authorities and people. Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc recognized and appreciated the efforts and achievements of the municipal police over the past 6 months.

He also asked the municipal police to take measures to ensure cyber security and effectively fight all acts of distorting and undermining the ideology and policies of the Party and State in cyberspace. They should manage to enhance the efficiency of Party building and force building as well as to pay more attention to developing the communal police force.
Finally, the local police should strictly follow the directions of the Party Secretariat, the Government, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Combat, the Ministry of Public Security and the municipal authorities on prevention and control of the pandemic.
