CAND Newspaper and partners support poor people in Bac Kan

PSNews – A charitable mission of the Public Security (CAND) Newspaper, Agribank and Bac Kan Provincial Police on January 29 presented 100 gifts to poor people and households in Hoang Tri and Nam Mau communes, Be Be district, Bac Kan province.

Hoang Tri is a mountainous commune of Ba Be district facing various difficulties. 26% of the 315 households is rated as the poor.

The 2 villages of Cooc Mu and Na Dien in the commune are even facing extreme difficulties,  says To Nhuan Phong, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hoang Tri commune.

The charitable delegation presented 50 gifts, worth VND 500,000 each, to poor households in Hoang Tri commune.

The delegation continued their trip to Nam Mau commune, locating the magnificent Ba Be Lake. Despite the huge potential for tourism of Ba Ba Lake, local residents in Nam Mau are still poor.

According to Nguyen Thi Hang, Chairwoman of the Nam Mau People’s Committee, the vast majority of the residents in the commune are of the Tay, Hmong and Yao ethnic groups, who earn their living mainly from agriculture activities.

In the past few years, in addition to its main tasks of information and dissemination, the CAND Newspaper has mobilized donors of various kinds to support poor people all over the country, said Colonel Tran Duy Dien, Head of Legal and Reader Affairs Division of the CAND Newspaper.

Ms. Bui Thi Hoa, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee of Ba Be, thanked the donations, supports and sentiments of the CAND Newspaper and its partners, saying that the supports would encourage local residents to overcome their difficulties in life and contribute to the socio-economic development of Ba Be district.
