Committee supervising professional work of police established

The Steering Committee on Professional Work of the Police Force (Steering Committee) under the Ministry of Public Security held a meeting on July 9 to review its task performance in the first half and roll out new working plans for the remaining months of the year.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency and Head of the Steering Committee, chaired the event.

At the meeting, a decision by the Minister of Public Security on consolidating the Steering Committee was announced. Delegates also discussed solutions to improve the quality and effectiveness of the basic professional competence of the police force.

Under the decision, Lieutenant General, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc is the Head of the Steering Committee, Lieutenant General To An Xo, Chief of the MPS Office is the Vice Head, and Major General Hoang Anh Tuyen, Vice Chief of the MPS Office is the Permanent Member while Directors of the police professional departments and the People’s Police Academy are members of the committee.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc highlighted the significance of the professional competence of the police force.

He urged all members of the committee and relevant agencies to complete documents regulating professional work and professional competence as well as documents defining the responsibilities of leaders of police agencies in directing, supervising professional work as well as in improving their subordinates’ professional competence.
