Commune as Covid-19 epicenter kept in quarantine

The Northern province of Vinh Phuc on February 13 checked and isolated the whole Son Loi commune, Binh Xuyen district, which has six patients of the novel Coronavirus disease (Covid-2019).

All people, including permanent residents and guest workers, who are living and working in Son Loi from other areas, are banned from going out of the commune.

On the afternoon of February 12, the Provincial People's Council of Vinh Phuc adopted a plan to support 40,000 Dongs/person/day for all people living and working in Son Loi and 60,000 Dongs/person/day for people being treated at local health facilities.

Hoang Thi Lan, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Vinh Phuc, said the province has mobilized the entire human resources for the prevention and control of the Covid-2019.

To date, 16 cases of Convid-2019 have been reported in Vietnam, including 8 patients under treatment and 7 recovered. Additionally, 758 suspected cases have been under control of authorities at all levels and 82 other cases have been kept in quarantine.

Vietnam’s Ministry of Health established working groups under the Steering Committee for Prevention and Combat of the Covid-2019 to support localities in preventing and controlling the disease.

The Ministry has also planned to organize courses on monitoring, diagnosis, isolation and environmental treatment for all health workers in Vinh Phuc province on February 13. At the same time, it sends a quick response team from the Health Ministry to Vinh Phuc in support of the disease-hit localities.
