Recently, the Ministry of Transport has just sent a written reply to the voters of Bac Kan province on the implementation of the investment project to build the Cho Moi - Bac Kan expressway.

According to the road network planning for the 2021-30 period with a vision to 2050, the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Bac Kan expressway (CT.07) has a scale of 4-6 lanes. In which, the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen expressway section has 6 lanes, the Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi route (Bac Kan) has 4 lanes, similar to the Cho Moi - Bac Kan section.

Agreed with the proposal of the voters of Bac Kan province on the need to invest in the Cho Moi - Bac Kan route according to the approved plan to ensure the synchronization, the Ministry of Transport said that the project investment policy has been approved.

Construction of the 20-km, VND2 trillion ($84.35 million) Cho Moi - Bac Kan road will begin next year and be completed in 2025, to address bottlenecks in transport infrastructure in Vietnam’s northern mountainous area.

A number of investors have said that Bac Kan province holds advantages in forestry, mineral resources, and tourism, especially Ba Be Lake, but its inconvenient traffic network makes them hesitant.
