Member of the Politburo and Permanent Member of the Secretariat of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee General Vilay Lakhamphong paid a visit to the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) of Vietnam to congratulate Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security of Vietnam General Luong Tam Quang and the MPS leadership on the success of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, on the afternoon of January 25 in Hanoi.

Overview of the meeting.

On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leadership of the MPS of Vietnam, Minister Luong Tam Quang sincerely thanked General Vilay Lakhamphong for his visit to the Vietnamese MPS and warmly congratulated the guest on the success of the 12th National Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party.

Minister Luong Tam Quang also congratulated General Vilay Lakhamphong on being re-elected as a Member of the Politburo and elected to the position of Permanent Member of the Secretariat of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee for the 12th tenure (2026–2031).

The host also congratulated the Lao senior official on successfully leading the Lao Public Security Forces in fulfilling their tasks of ensuring security and safety in their country, thereby contributing to the success of the 12th National Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party.

On this occasion, Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed his hope that, in his capacity as the Permanent Member of the Secretariat, General Vilay Lakhamphong would continue to direct the Lao Public Security Forces to closely coordinate with the Vietnamese Public Security Forces, contributing to further strengthening the bilateral cooperation to build increasingly regular, elite and in-depth Public Security Forces of Laos and Vietnam, as well as to safeguarding national security and promoting socio-economic development in each country.

Minister Luong Tam Quang affirmed that, in the coming time, the Vietnamese MPS will continue to closely coordinate with the MPS of Laos across all areas to successfully fulfill all the tasks entrusted by the two Parties, the two States and the peoples of the two countries, contributing to further deepening the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic connectivity between Vietnam and Laos in general and between the two Ministries of Public Security in particular.

On behalf of the Party, the State and the people of Laos, General Vilay Lakhamphong congratulated Minister Luong Tam Quang and the leaders of the Vietnamese MPS on the occasion of the successful conclusion of the 14th National Party Congress.

The guest highly appreciated the role of the Vietnamese MPS in ensuring security and safety, saying that the Vietnamese Public Security Forces made an important contribution to the success of the National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

He pledged that he will continue to support cooperation between the Public Security Forces of the two countries, thereby further deepening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
