Director of the Counter-Narcotics Police Department Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Vien, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest, chaired the conference.

The Drug-free School Contest aims to inform students in high schools, universities and colleges of the main content of the Law on Drug Prevention and Control, as well as equip them with knowledge of the harmful effects of drugs on the community, and guide them how to avoid drug abuse, contributing to developing a healthy educational environment with no student committing drug-related offences.

This year’s edition consists of 20 programs for high school students in 10 provinces and cities, 9 programs for students of universities and colleges.

Answering journalists’ queries, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Vien revealed that the success of the 2023 edition proved that the Drug-free School Contest is an attractive and creative form of public anti-drug education, making students of schools very excited to participate in.

To further boost the effectiveness of the fight against drug-related crimes, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Vien hoped that police forces will continue to receive the support of press agencies for the fight against drug, including the Drug-free School Contest, so that teenagers and students of schools, universities and colleges may be aware of the harmful consequences and dangers of drugs so as not to be tempted by them.

Accompanying the Drug-Free School competition this year, football player Doan Van Hau wished to spread the messages of “Resolutely saying "no" to drugs”, "Not trying drugs even once", promote the building of "Drug-Free Schools" and call on the community to join hands to prevent drugs.
