Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang attended and delivered a keynote speech at a meeting to review the work results of the Criminal Investigation Police Force nationwide in 2024, on January 16th, in Hanoi.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Head of the Criminal Investigation Authority of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), chaired the meeting.

The meeting was held online, connecting delegates from the MPS headquarters and police departments of the provinces and centrally-run cities.

According to reports at the meeting, the Criminal Investigation Police Force early made exact prediction and assessment of development trends of crime and law violations for 2024, effectively advised the Public Security Central Party Committee and MPS leaders on directing the work of crime prevention and control and building the Criminal Investigation Police Force.

Thanks to the efforts of the entire Criminal Investigation Police Force, all the tasks specifically set out from the beginning of 2024 were generally fulfilled while many of the objectives were excellently completed ahead of schedule.

Additionally, the Criminal Investigation Police Force achieved notable successes in crime prevention and control. They promptly discovered, prosecuted, and investigated a number of major criminal, drug trafficking, economic wrongdoing and corruption cases that had caused significant damage to the property of the State and the people.

The force’s achievements contributed greatly to preventing crime and deterring criminals.

Addressing the meeting, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and MPS leaders, Minister Luong Tam Quang acknowledged and hailed the victories and achievements of the Criminal Investigation Police Force over the past year.

Agreeing with the force’s work orientations for 2025, Minister Luong Tam Quang requested that police units and agencies should strongly renovate their mindsets in investigating and handling crime while taking the pioneering role in implementing the Party’s viewpoints and policies on fighting corruption, wastefulness and negative phenomena.

Additionally, the Minister requested that the Criminal Investigation Police Force should resolutely prevent and fight against all types of crime and enhance the quality of the criminal investigation, as well as attach greater importance to building truly clean, strong, regular, elite and modern Criminal Investigation Police Agencies at all levels to meet the task requirements in the new situation.
