Criminal Police Department rolls out working plan for 2021

PSNews - The Criminal Police Department (CPD) under the Ministry of Public Security held a conference on December 10 to review the force’s task performance in 2020, and roll out its working plan for 2021. Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Deputy Minister of Public Security attended and delivered a speech at the conference.

According to reports at the conference, the CPD has guided the nationwide criminal police force to effectively control crime and well maintain public order and security in 2020.

The force’s working results show that, in 2020, the criminal police force has investigated 35,872 criminal cases, arrested and handled more than 76,000 subjects involved.

Large and serious criminal cases, which caused much public concern, were all investigated. Particularly, the CPD has coordinated with the local-level police forces to successfully investigate a national-scale online-gambling ring with a total bet of over VND 20,000 billion.

For its outstanding achievements, the CPD was awarded the Government’s Emulation Flag in 2020. One senior officer was awarded the title of “Hero of the People's Armed Forces”, and many other officers were presented honorable awards such as “Military Exploit” Medal and Medal of National Protection.

Addressing at the conference, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong acknowledged and praised the outstanding achievements and victories of the CPD and the whole criminal police force in 2020.

Regarding the force’s working plan in 2021, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong asked the CPD to take effective preventive measures to achieve the goal of reducing at least 5% of criminal cases compared to 2020. 

In the coming time, the CPD should continue to effectively open campaigns against crimes, ensure absolute security for the 13th National Party Congress and Lunar New Year Festival 2021.
