Cybersecurity Department warns against cyberattacks during 13th National Party Congress

The Department of Cyber Security and Hi-tech Crime Prevention under the Ministry of Public Security has recently detected a sharp increase in the number of cyber-attacks on Vietnam’s Internet system, particularly on the websites and networks of important agencies, economic groups, financial institutions.

The information was revealed at a meeting held by the Department of Cyber Security and Hi-tech Crime Prevention to roll out plans to ensure cybersecurity for the 13th National Party Congress. 

According to the Department, cyber attackers used the methods of phishing, mass scan, mass exploit, or spyware on USB devices to change the interface of websites or/and attack networks of agencies and businesses. 


Notably, hackers has changed their tricks by putting spywares on popular software or specialized IT solutions used by Party and State agencies to attack their websites or networks. 

In the face of complicated developments in cyberattacks, especially during the 13th National Party Congress, the Department of Cybersecurity and Hi-tech Crime Prevention recommends agencies and businesses to take basic preventive measures.
