Da Nang enjoys increasing number of tourists

PSNews – The estimated total number of tourists to Da Nang in the first half of 2018 is at over 4 million, a rise of 29.4% compared with the same period of 2017, according to the Department of Tourism of Da Nang.

Of the figure, the number of foreign visitors represents some 1.6 million, up by 47.1% year on year.

Da Nang has remained a favorite destination of tourists from South Korea and China. Over 800,000 S. Korean tourists arrived in Da Nang in the first 6 months of 2018, a rise of  101%, while the figure for Chinese tourists was over 368,000, rising 36% and representing 23% of the total foreign visitors. 

Reportedly, 9 airlines offer some 170 direct flights per week between Da Nang and various cities of S. Korea, including Seoul, Busan, Incheon and Daegu. Da Nang also has direct flights to South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan (China), Bangkok (Thailand) and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).

The authorities of the city have promoted efforts to open direct flights to Japan to facilitate travels of Japanese tourists to the city, as well as to creeat more economic cooperation opportunities for foreign investment.

The city’s leadership has also adopted foreign partners to develop its tourism strategies with the aim of attracting more tourists and increasing its competitiveness with other famous tourism destinations in the region.
