Da Nang inaugurates APEC Park

On the morning of 9 November, in Da Nang, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh hosted the inauguration ceremony of the APEC Park. 

Presenting at the ceremony were Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh, Ministers and Heads of Delegations from APEC economies.  The ceremony also saw the participation of Da Nang People’s Committee President Huynh Duc Tho as well as representatives of Da Nang’s departments and agencies.

At the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh emphasized “this APEC Park is an effort to expand and deepen understanding of APEC, connecting people-to-people, advancing cultural exchange.”

Deputy Prime Minister Minh highly valued the support from APEC members, who sent in selected works of art that showcase the region’s rich cultures and contribute to the overall theme of APEC 2017 “Creating New Dynamism, Fostering a Shared Future”. 

“Located by Han River, at the heart of the dynamic city of Da Nang, the APEC Park is dedicated to you, your economies and your people. My hope it is that it will be a symbol of APEC’s innovation, vigor and spirit of cooperation, and one of the must-visit attraction for anyone traveller in Da Nang”, Deputy Prime Minister Minh concluded.

Deputy Prime Minister Minh and distinguished guests unveiled the stone- carved APEC 2017 logo, planted trees and enjoyed the artistic works meticulously sculptured by talented artisans from APEC economies.
