Da Nang Municipal Police and Hospital 199 praised

Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security, on April 29, had a meeting with the police forces in Da Nang city.

The meeting saw the presence of Major General Nguyen Khac Thuy, Director of the Public Security Department of Health; Major General Vu Xuan Vien, Director of the Da Nang Municipal Police Department; Senior Colonel Quach Huu Trung, Director of Hospital 199 and representatives from other units under the Ministry of Public Security.

Representative from the Municipal Police briefed Deputy Minister Son and other delegates on the results of the prevention and combat of COVID-19 in the city.

Notably, the Municipal Police Department coordinated with the city’s Health Department to form seven checkpoints in main gateway routes and Railway Station in the city. To date, police forces have stopped some 81,000 vehicles and checked nearly 195,000 people’s body temperature, collected compulsory health declarations from 110,000 people.

The city’s police forces handled nearly 8,000 people for violating regulations on prevention and combat of COVID-19, prosecuted one person and fined some 550 million Dong for violations of the regulations on the pandemic prevention and control.

The Municipal Police Department also coordinated with local authorities to disseminate and mobilize the people to follow the Directives No. 15 and 16 by the Prime Minister and other directions from higher levels on disease prevention and combat.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son applauded the efforts from the Municipal Police Department and local police forces in the fight against the pandemic and in ensuring social and order. He also spoke highly of the efforts of Hospital 199 in preventing and combating COVID-19.

The Deputy Minister also said that the Ministry planned to upgrade all public security medical facilities, including Hospital 199, to improve their healthcare capacities to meet the demands of medical examination and treatment of public security officers and people.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son also presented gifts to the Department of Health, the Municipal Police of Da Nang and Hospital 199. On the same day, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son and his aides visited and inquired after families of Major Dang Thanh Tuan and Sergeant Vo Van Toan, who died while performing their duties.
