Daily COVID-19 rate falls sharply, as over 175,000 recover from virus

 The nation continues to see a consistent fall in the number of new daily COVID-19 infections, with 108,979 infections confirmed on March 25, a drop of 11,035 from one day earlier.

Of the latest cases, a total of 83,428 were detected within the local community, with 22 being imported.

Three localities top the daily case list, including Hanoi with 10,803 new infections, Phu Tho with 4,555, and Nghe An with 4,023.

The average number of daily cases nationwide over the past seven days now stands at 130,146, while the national death rate has been at a daily average of 65

The Health Ministry also confirmed a further 175,540 recoveries on the same day, thereby taking the total number of recovered cases up to over 5 million.

A further 51 casualties were also confirmed over the past 24 hours, raising the country’s overall death toll to 42,196 or 0.5% of total infections.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Vietnam has recorded 8,761,252 COVID-19 cases, ranking 14 out of 225 countries and territories globally, while with the ratio of infections per million people, Vietnam ranks 121/225 countries and territories (on average, there are 88,634 infections for every 1 million people).

As of March 24, the country had injected 204.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
