Department for Information and Communications reviews task performance

The Department for Information and Communications (DIC) under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on July 8 organized a conference to review its task performance in the first 6 months of 2020.

Lieutenant General Mai Van Ha, Director of the DIC chaired the event.

According to a report delivered by Senior Colonel Pham Khai, DIC Vice Director and Editor-In-Chief of the Public Security Newspaper, in the first 6 months of 2020, the Party Committee and leadership of the DIC directed the public security press and media sector to perform well its core task of information dissemination in accordance with the orientations and directions from the  Party Central Committee’s Information and Education Commission, the Ministry of Information and Communications and the MPS.

The Department promptly disseminated the guidelines from leaders of the Party, the State and the MPS on issues related to security and order and issues of public concern while actively and effectively fighting wrong and hostile views, protecting the Party's ideological basis and promoting the good image of the Public Security Forces (PSF).

The sector also worked closely with public security agencies and units nationwide to reflect their activities in various journalism platforms.

Over the past six months, more than 2,000 pieces of journalism of all kinds have been published or broadcasted. They covered the achievements and victories of the PSF, and especially promoted good examples in emulation movements as well as outstanding police officers in the fight against crime in campaigns to attack crimes and protect public order and security during the Lunar New Year 2020 and the COVID-19 period.

Over the past 6 months, 59 teams and individuals of the DIC with their outstanding achievements at work have been honored by authorities at various levels.

At the event, under the authorization of the MPS leadership, Lieutenant General Mai Van Ha handed Certificates of Merit awarded by the Minister of Public Security to three teams and four individuals. Leaders of the DIC also praised 74 individuals with outstanding achievements.

Lieutenant General Mai Van Ha also thoroughly explained the Prime Minister's direction and the Minister of Public Security's conclusions at the conference to review Public Security Forces’ task performances in the first 6 months of 2020. He released that the Public Security Newspaper and the Public Security Television have been praised by Minister General To Lam. On behalf of the Party Committee and the leaders of the DIC, Lieutenant General Mai Van Ha also acknowledged and hailed the achievements of the public security press and media sector in the first 6 months.
