Department of Science, Strategy and History of Public Security rolls out new working plans

PSNews – The Department of Science, Strategy and History of Public Security (DSSH) on January 9 held a conference in Hanoi to review its task performance in 2018 and roll out its new working plans for 2019. 

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security attended the conference and delivered a keynote speech. 

At the conference, Major General Do Le Chi, Director of the DSSH briefed participants on some main contents of the 74th National Conference of Public Security, including the guidance of the General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong, the conclusion of the Minister of Public Security as well as the new motto of the Public Security Forces for 2019.

Major General Do Le Chi reported that in 2018, the DSSH successfully completed its assigned tasks. The department actively advised the Central Party Committee of Public Security and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) to issue guidelines, policies and plans on   security and order, while well performing its functions and missions in the fields of strategy, science, meeting the task requirements of the whole forces in the current situation.

In 2018 following the master project to organize and streamline the apparatus of the Public Security Forces, the Department consolidated its organization, stepped up Party work and force building, and united all officers and soldiers in a new working environment. At the 74th National Conference of Public Security, the Department was honored to receive the Excellent Emulation Flag from the Minister of Public Security.

Speaking at the conference, on behalf of the Central Party Committee of Public Security and leaders of MPS, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh praised the achievements of the DSSH in recent times, and showed his consensus with the Department's working programmes in 2019.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh asked the DSSH to take initiative in grasping situations and producing precise forecasts as well as building long-term force development strategies in line with the strategies to ensure national security, social order and safety, and crime prevention in the current context.

General Thanh also emphasized that the DSSH should quickly complete the project to regulate contents of the journals of the Public Security Forces, which should have columns to develop theory on the Public Security Forces, forecast security, social order situations, and fight wrong views of hostile forces. 

The Department's officers and soldiers should regularly improve their professional expertise and knowledge as well as abilities to do scientific research. 

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh instructed the Department to propose long-term strategies and produce quality research works on non-traditional security issues, contributing to maintaining the national sustainability and ensuring security and safety.

On this occasion, the Department also presented certificates of merit to typical individuals and collectives for their outstanding contribution in the movement “For National Security 2018”.
