Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam chairs press conference on task performance of PSF in 2017

PSNews – The Ministry of Public Security has held a press conference to brief the press and media on the task performance of the Public Security Forces in 2017 and their key missions in 2018. The event took place on January 15 in Hanoi, under the chair of Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security.

Major General Luong Tam Quang, Chief of the Public Security Ministry Office briefed participants on achievements of the Public Security Forces (PSF) in 2017 and their working plans for 2018.

Addressing the press conference, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam affirmed that 2017 was an important year of the country. Over the year, Vietnam has reached many achievements in the various fields of politics, economy, social security and order and foreign affairs.

In 2017, the PSF successfully fulfilled all assignments set by the National Assembly, thanks to the sound leadership of the Party and State, the close coordination of the People’s Army and other relevant ministries, agencies, and supports from the people.

The forces’ achievements have contributed significantly to firmly protecting national sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity and maintaining political stability, social order as well as creating a safe and favorable environment for the socio-economic development and foreign affairs of the country.

At the 73rd National Conference of Public Security Forces, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong also praised the PSF for their excellent outcomes in 2017. 

The Party General Secretary reminded the SPF of their slogans: “Be ready to sacrifice themselves for the Fatherland and people,” “The destiny of the Party closely attached to each one” and “For one, honor is the most sacred and noble.”

On behalf of the Party Central Committee of Public Security and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam sincerely thanked press agencies, reporters and editors for their supports over the past year.

He hoped that, in the coming time, all press agencies will continue backing the Ministry of Public Security in popularizing the PSF’s activities, contributing to ensuring social order and safety as well as building a strong and elite SPF.

At the press conference, Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam also answered questions from reporters relating to the current security and order situation.
