Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam works with Dien Bien police

PSNews – A high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security, led by its Deputy Minister, Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, on December 3 had a working session with the Dien Bien Provincial Police Department.

The meeting saw the participation of Chairman of the Dien Bien Provincial People Committee; Major General Sung A Hong, Director of the Dien Bien Provincial Police Department and other relevant agencies of the Ministry of Public Security.

At the meeting, Major General Sung A Hong, Director of the Dien Bien Provincial Police Department briefed the delegates on the unit’s task performance in 2018, underlining that the provincial police has over the past time given good advice to Party committees at all level of the province’s localities on measures to maintain security and order.

Accordingly, the province’s situations of political security, rural security, religious security, internal security, information security and economic security have all been stable.

According to statics, in 2018, the Dien Bien Provincial Police have successfully investigated and solved 91% of the criminal cases, of which 100% serious one have been resolved. The unit also cracked down a number of major drug-related, economic and criminal cases.

Major General Hong added that the work of ensuring traffic safety, fire prevention as well as the collection of illegally-stored weapons, explosives and supporting tools and the emulation movements have also achieved many important results.

Addressing the event, Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam spoke highly of the Dien Bien Provincial Police’s task performance, especially the work of ensuring order and safety in 2018. He praised the local police force for their effective aproaches to step up cooperation with Lao and Chinese law enforcement forces.

Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam asked the Dien Bien Provincial Police to better perform their political missions, contributing to socio-economic development of the province while also focusing on education and information to raise local people’s awareness of the fight against drug-related crimes and human trafficking.
