PSNews - Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung hosted talks with Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Police General Roy Inkapairoj, on the afternoon of July 3, in Hanoi.

At the talks, the two sides agreed that they will continue to maintain the exchange of delegations at all levels to share information on crime prevention and discuss measures to respond to the crime situation in the two countries, new criminal methods and tricks, and threats to security and order of each country or ASEAN region, especially economic and criminal offences, illicit drug trafficking, trafficking in person, in the coming time.

The two sides also agreed to consider building and establishing contact points to strengthen bilateral coordination in preventing and combating illicit drug trafficking, high-tech crime and illegal immigration, and regularly report the leaders of the two agencies on situations and results of the bilateral cooperation while advising competent authorities of the two countries to sign cooperation documents in these fields.

Next, the two sides reached consensus on co-organizing training and capacity building programs for officers and soldiers at the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Royal Thai Police while actively supporting each other with equipment, sharing applications of science and technology in preventing and controlling crime.

Finally, the two sides agreed to coordinate closely in investigating cases related to the two countries and tracking transnational criminal groups and pursuing fugitives wanted by one country hiding in the other, in accordance with the laws of each country and international practices, while considering conducting joint investigation of very serious cases affecting security and order of the two countries.
