Welcoming the Chinese delegation to the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung emphasized that, based on the common understandings reached between the top leaders of the two Parties and States, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and Chinese law enforcement agencies have established a comprehensive, multi-tiered and multi-sectoral cooperation mechanism, leading to substantial and practical outcomes.

Notably, the police departments of Quang Ninh, Cao Bang, Ha Giang and Lang Son provinces (Vietnam) have closely and effectively collaborated with Guangxi’s law enforcement agencies in exchanging delegations, jointly investigating and handling criminal cases related to drug trafficking, human trafficking, wanted fugitives and illegal immigration.

They also joined efforts in carrying out the repatriation and reception of citizens who had crossed the border illegally.

To further strengthen cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and its Chinese counterparts, particularly between Vietnam’s four border provinces and Guangxi’s law enforcement agencies, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung proposed that the two sides continue to effectively implement the signed cooperation agreements, including the Government-level agreement on crime prevention and control, the minutes of the ministerial meeting on crime prevention cooperation and the agreement on enhancing political security cooperation, while enhancing the effectiveness of cooperation mechanisms at the provincial and autonomous regional levels.

Furthermore, he urged the two sides to strengthen collaboration in ensuring the safety and security of agencies, enterprises and citizens of one country residing in the other, while regularly exchanging practical experience in digital transformation in policing and enhancing the capacity of law enforcement forces to combat all types of crime, especially high-tech crimes.

Sincerely thanking Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung for the meeting, Secretary Miao Qingwang noted that the recent state visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping was a politically and diplomatically significant event in the bilateral relations, ushering in a new phase in Vietnam–China ties.

Building on the consensus reached by the leaders of the two Parties and States, the guest called for continued substantive and effective cooperation between the two sides in the coming period.

He hoped that such efforts would advance the Vietnam–China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, deepen the shared future community, deliver practical benefits to both peoples and contribute to maintaining peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
