Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung works with Capital Mobile Police Regiment

Major General Le Quoc Hung, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security recently worked with the Special Shipment Protection Police Battalion and Capital Mobile Police Regiment under the Mobile Police Command (MPC).

At the meeting, representatives from the Special Shipment Protection Police Battalion briefed the Deputy Minister on the unit’s task performance in the first four months of 2021, saying the battalion has successfully fulfilled all its assigned tasks.

The unit has actively advised its upper levels on plans and measures to ensure the absolute safety for special shipments, key establishments and projects, important political events and international delegations working in Vietnam.

According to reports delivered by leaders of the Capital Mobile Police Regiment at the meeting with the Deputy Minister, the unit participated actively and effectively in an intensive campaign to combat crimes and ensure security and order during the 13th National Party Congress, Lunar New Year and spring festival season.

The regiment also collaborated with various local police forces in patrolling and ensuring security and order on key routes and in critical areas while coordinating with specialized departments under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) in investigating five cases of smuggling, gambling, and illegal sand mining.

In addition, the Capital Mobile Police Regiment has worked out specific plans and measures to safeguard the upcoming election of the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils for the 2021-2026 term.

Addressing the event, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung praised the two units for their achievements over the past time.

Regarding their key missions in the coming time, the Deputy Minister asked the Special Shipment Protection Police Battalion and Capital Mobile Police Regiment to heighten their vigilance while actively coordinating with relevant agencies and units under the MPS, other ministries and sectors in grasping the situation and handling arising security and order problems.

In particular, the Deputy Minister urged the Capital Mobile Police Regiment to raise their sense of responsibility in ensuring security and order in Hanoi and its neighboring localities.The regiment should attach importance to professional training for its officers and soldiers as well as continuously improve cultural and spiritual lives of the unit’s officers and soldiers, he added.
