Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung, Deputy Minister of Public Security, on March 15 had a meeting with leaders of the Department of Foreign Relations.

On behalf of the department’s leadership, Lieutenant General Dang Xuan Hong, Director of the Department of Foreign Relations, briefed the deputy minister and other delegates on the department’s outstanding achievements over the past time as well as its work plans for the time to come.

The deputy minister asked the Department of Foreign Relations to effectively perform its main function as a ministry’s think-tank on foreign relations, actively make predictions about the situation in the region and world in the post-COVID era. The department should also advise the ministry’s leadership on foreign policy and human rights issues, as well as plans to expand both bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

All officers at the department should be competent in foreign languages, laws, international relations and diplomatic practices.

The department was also asked to hold training courses on foreign relations and human rights for officers of local police units.
