Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong receives Lao Deputy Minister of Security

PSNews - Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Deputy Minister of Public Security, received Lieutenant General Somvang Thammasith, Deputy Minister of Public Security of Laos, who in Vietnam to attend a conference on enhancing law dissemination and suppression of drug-related crimes along the Vietnam – Laos borderline, on August 19 in Thanh Hoa.

Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong highlighted that the two ministries have actively coordinated and exchanged information about transnational organized crimes, human trafficking rings and criminal cases, particularly drug-related crimes involving citizens of the two countries.

The police forces of border provinces of the two countries also held regular meetings to exchange information about security and order, and joined hands in maintaining a borderline of peace and friendship, contributing to enhancing the relations between the two peoples and two forces.

The Lao Deputy Minister thanked Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong for the reception and appreciated the close coordination between the two sides, contributing to protecting national interests and security of each country.

He revealed that the Ministry of Public Security of Laos promoted information about the harms of drugs to all people and closely directed Lao police units to focus on investigation and suppression of drug-related crimes.
