Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong works with Thanh Hoa Province on drug prevention and combat

A delegation of the National Committee for AIDS, Drugs and Prostitution Prevention and Control, led by Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security, had a meeting with Thanh Hoa Province on drug prevention and control.

According to reports at the meeting, the province now has over 7,468 drug addicts recorded by the authorities.

Since 2018, functional forces of the province investigated 1,271 drug-related cases, arrested 1,695 suspects involved, and eradicated 124 hotspots of drugs. They also handled 18 cases of prostitution and arrested 60 people involved.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong appreciated the effort and resolve of Thanh Hoa in prevention and combat of drug crimes and prostitution in the past time.

He asked the province to promote public education and information to raise the people’s awareness of drug and prostitution prevention. He also requested that functional forces should enhance coordination in the fight against drugs and prostitution.

Earlier, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong and his delegation also visited and checked Detoxification 1 in Nong Cong district.
