Deputy Minister Le Tan Toi pays tribute to martyrs in Quang Binh

A delegation of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) led by Major General Le Tan Toi, Deputy Minister of Public Security, visited and paid tribute to heroic martyrs at the Cave of Eight Voluntary Youths, in Tan Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh on September 29.

At the cemetery, the delegation offered flowers and incense in tribute to the heroic martyrs, who had bravely fought and sacrificed their lives for the cause of national liberation and national reunification.

They promised to study, train themselves and strive to fulfill all tasks assigned by the Party and the people, while contributing positively to the building of the Public Security Forces.

The Eight Voluntary Youths Cave is located at km16+500 on Road No.20, part of the legendary Truong Son trail. The cave is seen as an example of the sacrifices of voluntary youths during the fight against American invaders. In 1972, the US Air Force bombed and crushed Road No.20. The bombing banged the entrance of the cave shut, burying 8 young voluntary soldiers alive.
