At the meeting, representatives of the HCMC Police Department briefed the delegates on its working results in maintaining communication services, cipher, information security, security guard as well as promoting foreign affairs over the past time.

According to the reports, since the beginning of 2020, the HCMC Police Department has created official e-mail boxes for its subordinate units while putting into operation its AdministrativePublic Service Portal.

Furthermore, the municipal police proposed the MPS’s leadership to approve a project to develop a security camera system funded by social sources.They also completed and put into operation a modern Command and Information Center of the HCMC Police Department, meeting the task requirements in the new situation.

The municipal police also safeguarded 286 working delegations in HCMC, including 21 delegations of senior leaders. They also protected security and safety for various important political events and activities within the framework of the ASEAN 2020 organized in the city.

At the meeting, delegates discussed solutions to difficulties and problems on force building, finance, communications, training and development of high-quality human resources, as well as other issues related to equipment and facilities management, administrative reforms, foreign relations, application of scientific and technological advances in ensuring security and social order in the city.

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the MPS’s leadership, Deputy Minister Le Tan Toi praised the outstanding achievements made by the HCMC police over the past years.

Regarding its tasks in the coming time, Deputy Minister Le Tan Toi requested the municipal police to proactively take measures to deal with the current complex security situation. In the near future, they should effectively implement working plans to crack down on crimes and protect the organization of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress for the 2020 – 2025 term and the 13th National Party Congress.
