PSNews - As a member of the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung officially visiting the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen paid a courtesy call on Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security General Vilay Lakhamphong, on the afternoon of July 10, in Vientiane.

Welcoming the delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security, General Vilay Lakhamphong highly appreciated the fruitful and long-standing cooperation between the two ministries over the past years.

He expressed his hope that the two sides would continue to strengthen collaboration in combating crime, particularly drug-related and hi-tech crimes, as well as coordinate closely in training, capacity-building for public security forces and enhance cooperation in logistical and technical domains.

Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen expressed sincere thanks to the Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security for the warm reception and conveyed best regards of Vietnamese Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang to him.

The guest acclaimed the positive outcomes achieved by the two ministries in implementing the annual cooperation plan and the Memorandum of Understanding on drug control cooperation.

The Deputy Minister also revealed that the two sides had maintained regular exchange of criminal information and coordinated effectively in conducting joint operations, contributing to national security and public order in both countries and enhancing the international standing of Vietnam and Laos.

Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen affirmed that the Vietnamese Public Security Forces will always stand side by side with their Lao counterparts and are ready to provide timely support and closely coordinate with Lao partners to fulfill the shared mission of safeguarding peace, ensuring prosperity and happiness for the peoples of both nations.

In conclusion, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to effectively implementing the 2025 cooperation plan, intensifying joint efforts in crime prevention and control, promoting law enforcement capacity-building and deepening cooperation in technical and logistical domains.
