Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen visits Czech Republic

PSNews - As a member of a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Government led by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh paying an official visit to the Czech Republic, Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen, leading a delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam (MPS), engaged in numerous activities in Prague on January 20.

As part of the scheduled activities, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen and the delegation, led by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, attended the Vietnam-Czech Republic Business Forum held in Prague.

The Prime Minister and the MPS delegation later witnessed the signing ceremony of a memorandum of cooperation between the Hanoi Police Football Club and SK Slavia Prague Football Club of the Czech Republic. According to the memorandum, the two football clubs boost cooperation in training young players, exchanging professional knowledge and organizing international friendly matches.

The newly-signed deal has marked a significant step forward in promoting cultural and sports exchange between Vietnam and the Czech Republic, contributing to deepening relations and cooperation between the two countries in general and between Vietnam’s MPS and the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic in particular on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Czech Republic diplomatic relations.

* Earlier, the MPS delegation had a working session with the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic, during which both sides agreed to enhance comprehensive cooperation between the two ministries in the context that the two countries have just upgraded their relations to a strategic partnership.

Accordingly, the two sides agreed to further promote delegation exchanges at all levels to enhance mutual understanding, effectively implement signed cooperation agreements, and expedite negotiation for a new extradition agreement between Vietnam and the Czech Republic to meet the requirements for crime prevention and control work in the current situation.

The two sides also reached consensus on enhancing information and experience sharing through INTERPOL channels and police liaison officers on transnational organized crime, cybercrime, drug-related crime, human trafficking and illegal immigration, terrorism.

Additionally, the two sides agreed to consider establishing a hotline to allow timely information exchange and update each other on issues of mutual concern with a particular focus on immigration management.

The two ministries also consented to strengthen their coordination to ensure security and safety for one country’s citizens in the other country, as well as deny any organization or individual from taking advantage of one country’s territory to carry out sabotage activities against the other country.
