Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang attend year-end meetings of Hai Phong, Hai Duong police

Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security, attended and delivered keynote speeches at two separate meetings hosted by the Hai Phong Municipal Police Department and the Hai Duong Provincial Police Department to review their task performances over the past year and roll out work plans for 2022.

The event of Hai Phong police saw the presence of Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong Municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the Hai Phong Municipal People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung, and Chief of Office of the Ministry of Public Security Lieutenant General To An Xo, among others.

A report delivered at the meeting read that, Hai Phong police in 2021 have implemented comprehensive measures to maintain the political security situation in the city, and protect absolute safety of key establishments, projects, and significant events in the city.

Additionally, the city's police have effectively deployed intensive campaigns to suppress crimes and ensure social order and safety. As a result, the rate of criminal offenses in the city in 2021 decreased 16.2% against the same period in 2020 while 87.7% of criminal cases, including serious cases reached 98%, were successfully investigated.

Under the authority of the Party and State leaders, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang hands the “Feat of Arms” Order of all classes to teams and officers of the Hai Phong police.

* In Hai Duong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Pham Xuan Thang as well as Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung attended the meeting of the provincial police.

According to reports at the event, over the past year, the provincial police have strictly and effectively implemented the guidelines and directions of their upper level authorities while actively deploying their forces and plans to maintain national security and social order in the province. 

The rate of crimes related to social order has been reduced by 17.1% while the rate of successfully investigated criminal cases accounted for 93.5% of the total, of which 100% of the serious cases were solved.

The provincial police also drastically completed the projects on building the national population database and issuing chip-based ID cards as scheduled.

Speaking at the meetings, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang praised the achievements and efforts that Hai Phong and Hai Duong police forces have made over the past year.

Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang affirmed that, in 2022 and the following years, various new challenges will affect the protection of national security. Therefore, he requested the two police departments to early recognize all opportunities, challenges and difficulties so that they can proactively and promptly advise Party committees and authorities at all levels to draft plans to respond, prevent, and handle complex security and order situations in a timely and effective manner.

Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang also asked the police departments of Hai Phong and Hai Duong to continue building comprehensive district-level police forces and posting more commissioned police officers to communes and townships to solve issues related to security and order right at the grassroots level, contributing to reducing the crime rate and creating favorable conditions for local socio-economic development.
