Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang meets senior police and security officials of RoK

Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Deputy Minister of Public Security, has had meetings with Mr. Min Gap Ryong, Commissioner General of the National Police Agency (NPA) and Mr. Ju Young Hoon, Head of the Presidential Security Service.

The Vietnamese public security leader had the meetings with the Korean officials when he accompanied PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc to the Republic of Korea from November 25 to 28.

At the meeting with the Commissioner General of the NPA of the RoK, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang highlighted that on the basis of the sound relations between the two countries, the the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) of Vietnam and the RoK National  Police Agency has promoted coordination in crime prevention and fighting as well as in training and information exchanges over the past time.

Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang suggested the two side sides should map out coordination plans to prevent and fight crimes as well as pursue and transfer wanted citizens of one country hiding in the other, increase exchange of delegations at all levels, support each other in investigating specific cases, and building capability for their law enforcement.

Deputy Minister Quang also asked RoK partner to open more training courses on investigation of high-tech crimes, environmental crimes and human trafficking for officers of the MPS and coordinate effectively in ensuring security and safety for citizens of one country living and working in the other.

Mr. Min Gap Ryong expressed his delight at the good outcomes of the bilateral cooperation and hoped that the visit by Deputy Minister Quang would facilitate the cooperation between the police forces of the two countries.

At the meeting with Mr. Ju Young Hoon, Deputy Minister Quang highlighted that the MPS of Vietnam and the Presidential Security Service of Korea signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation of their guard forces on November 11, 2017. This has served as legal framework for both sides to expand cooperation in ensuring security and safety for exchanging high-ranking delegations, opening training courses for guard police officers of the two countries.

Deputy Minister Quang asked the Presidential Security Service of Korea to further support the MPS in training its guard police officers in RoK as well as organize short-term training courses for them in Vietnam.

Mr. Ju Young Hoon appreciated the fine outcomes of the bilateral cooperation gained by both sides in the past time and affirmed that the Presidential Security Service of Korea is always willing to cooperate with the MPS in the areas of mutual concern.
