Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang visits Vietnamese peacekeepers in UNMISS

A working group from the Ministry of Public Security led by Head of the Steering Committee for Vietnam People's Public Security Forces’ Participation in UN Peacekeeping and Deputy Minister of Public Security, Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang visited and had a meeting with Vietnamese military and police peacekeepers in South Sudan, on the afternoon of March 24, 2024.

The Deputy Minister extended best regards from Minister of Public Security General To Lam to all officers of the People's Public Security Forces and the Vietnam People's Army working at the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).

Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang said that leaders of the Ministry of Public Security want to have a deep insight into the working and living conditions of Vietnamese officers in the country, as well as learn about their thoughts and confidences so as to advise the Party and State to have appropriate policies in the coming time.

At the meeting, the Vietnamese police and army officers at the UNMISS reported to the Deputy Minister and the working group on their functions, missions, work results as well as the local security situation.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang hailed the strong will and high sense of responsibility of all Vietnamese peacekeepers in South Sudan, saying that they had overcome numerous difficulties and challenges, and successfully completed their assignments at UNMISS.

In fact, the work results of the Vietnamese peacekeepers were highly appreciated by international friends, UNMISS leaders and UNMISS Deputy Police Commissioner.

It is clear that the Vietnamese officers had demonstrated their revolutionary qualities and professional qualifications in the multilateral working environment, contributing to imbuing the heroic tradition of the Vietnam People's Armed Forces and beautifying the image of the Vietnam People's Armed Forces, including the Vietnamese People's Police Force.

They have also proved that  Vietnamese army and police officers have been fully capable of working and accomplishing tasks in an international environment.

Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized that the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security considers the deployment of police officers to UN peacekeeping operations as one of the important political tasks, contributing to realizing the commitments of the Party and State of Vietnam to maintaining peace and security in the region and the world.
