A report delivered by Major General Nguyen Hai Trung, Director of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department, read that in the first months of 2020, the Thanh Hoa provincial police effectively struggled against crimes, especially property theft, gambling, black credit and cyber fraud. They also proactively coordinated with local authorities in tracking and quarantining COVID-19 patients and suspects of COVID-19 infection while strictly handling cases of spreading false information about the pandemic on social networks.

Particularly, the police of Thanh Hoa province coordinated closely with relevant agencies to develop the National Database of Population in accordance with Directive No.07 issued by the Prime Minister in 2017 and Directive No. 05 issued by the Minister of Public Security in 2018.

The Thanh Hoa provincial police also posted professional police officers to 525/525 communes in the province. They worked out plans to check and detect illegal storage and use of weapons, explosives and combat gears.

At the same time, they mobilized local people to surrender illegally stored weapons, explosives and combat gears to the local authorities.

Regarding social activities, the provincial police organized 11 blood donation drives, in which 1,043 local police officers and soldiers participated and donated 1,000 blood units.

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc praised the achievements obtained by the Thanh Hoa provincial police over the past time.

Regarding their missions in the time to come, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc requested the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department to seriously follow the Government’s and Ministry of Public Security's instructions on COVID-19 prevention and control while paying due attention to implementing the project of the National Database on Population in accordance with the Minister of Public Security’s directions.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc also urged the provincial police to promote coordination with local Party Committees and authorities in establishing communal police Party committees and appointing communal police chiefs as standing members of the communal Party committees.
